A top-tier client approached us with a highly specific need: custom equipment for their advanced lithium battery manufacturing plant — to transport delicate electrode rolls safely and handle precise loading and unloading tasks.
Our engineering team analyzed their strict technical requirements. We utilized our most popular, high-end M-Series chassis as the foundation. The result is a specialized fleet of three distinct stacker models, each tailored to handle specific roll dimensions — transforming affordable warehouse equipment into high-precision, cleanroom-ready logistics technology.
Navigating the Severe Demands of the Battery Sector
Production facilities operate under extreme cleanroom protocols. Any contamination leads to catastrophic financial losses. Metal dust is the ultimate enemy — traditional forklifts generate metal shavings during mast operation, which is entirely unacceptable for battery plants. A single microscopic metal flake can cause a battery short circuit.
The materials handled are incredibly fragile. Positive and negative electrode foils are exceedingly expensive, wound onto large, heavy rolls. A simple bump can ruin an entire batch. The rolls weigh hundreds of kilograms — some exceeding a full ton.
Conventional walk-behind stackers lack the necessary finesse. Their hydraulic systems often jump or jerk during lifting. Their turning circles are too wide for cramped assembly aisles. Space is at an absolute premium in modern gigafactories.
Therefore, an Electric Roll Handling Stacker must function as a surgical tool rather than a brute-force lifting device — offering dynamic handling, excellent travel speed, and absolute safety.
Unlocking the Grip: How the Air Shaft Works
The secret to handling delicate rolls lies in the attachment. Our engineers utilized sophisticated air expanding mandrels — a marvel of pneumatic engineering that relies on pressurized air to secure the load without any external crushing of the fragile material.

Air at 0.4–0.8 MPa inflates bladder. Lugs press evenly against core wall. Roll locked — no slipping.

Full roll weight transfers to the stacker. Lifted smoothly, aligned with coating machine.

Air released. Bladder deflates instantly. Lugs retract. Shaft extracted effortlessly.

The first vehicle in this custom lineup handles rolls with a length of 370 mm and diameter of 900 mm. The compact chassis provides a tight turning circle, navigating narrow cleanroom aisles effortlessly.
The ram is constructed from premium 304 stainless steel — preventing corrosion, eliminating flaking paint or rust. Non-metallic lifting guide wheels prevent metal-on-metal grinding, guaranteeing a dust-free lifting process.

The second unit tackles a longer payload — 600 mm roll length, 900 mm diameter. The extended length shifts the center of gravity significantly; our engineers reinforced the mast structure accordingly. Remarkably, the turning radius remains at R1435 mm — maneuverability is never compromised.
Electrical specifications mirror the first unit, simplifying maintenance. The AC traction motor ensures smooth travel despite the extended load. Regenerative braking provides ultimate stopping control.

The final machine is a true heavyweight. The roll diameter is a massive 1100 mm — a single ram cannot support this safely. We engineered a robust CDD20 dual-arm reel handling stacker with specialized V-block cradles and electrically adjustable inner arm distance (600 mm – 1600 mm).
Front-of-arm custom nylon V-blocks gently cradle a through-the-core shaft (183 mm core diameter). Safety interlocks include dual mechanical + electrical limits. The turtle speed button (≤3 km/h) allows microscopic adjustments when docking with machinery.
